Sometimes you might get error while connecting to SQL server from your local desktop.

Resolution:-
This might cause due to server response. If there is delay at network level then definitely you will face this type of issue.
To get out of it follow below stpes:
Click on Options which is at right hand bottom. then click on connection properties Tab
You will see connection Time out option.
Provide 60 seconds in connection timeout text box and click on OK.
